GEORGIA BREASTFEEDING COALITION
February 2010 Update:
Georgia Celebrates Breastfeeding Month in May
Georgia has designated May of each year as Breastfeeding Awareness Month. This month was chosen because of Mothers Day, when appreciation is shown to mothers for giving their babies the best start in life. Each year the Governor signs a proclamation. In 2002, the signing of the proclamation coincided with signing of the Breastfeeding Bill (Senate Bill 221).
It's not too early to begin thinking of the ways to promote breastfeeding for your area.
